Hope this feature will be added!

Definitely would love this feature. I'm tired of going through ridiculous hoops just to get something functional.

        it would be perfect

Really? No support for RTSP over h.264 from an IP camera... Still?
Another project, another solution done w/o microsoft related platforms. Becoming more and more the norm I guess...

I need support for RTSP stream

      • Anonymous commented  ·

This is such a basic need that I couldn't believe it was not available already.
I too have to ingest CCTV video streams from cameras supporting only RTP/RTSP streaming ( besides their own proprietary streaming protocols ) .. This is still an industry standard ATM and ignoring it is neglecting a potentially big market and therefore source of revenue for MS.

There are better solutions with IP based input. Multicast, unicast, http (like dreambox), mms, mmsh, rtmp, rtsp, rtspt, dshow, even all playable formats like, avi, vob, mp4, you can encode/transcode to streaming servers like Helix, Wowza, Adobe Media Server, Red (or to a CDN)

If you wait for Microsoft, you can wait tooooo loooong!

I need to stream from a multicast address and EE would work perfect for that purpose if only it would allow us to add IP based sources.

This is an essential feature. I have a Trendnet IP camera which works quite well. But I need this to be a video input to Expresssions Encoder.

Axis has released the Axis Streaming Assistant and it can provide Axis camera audio and video streams to EE. Download is available from Axis in the software section.

        Please MS...only makes sense

The only way I can use this software is if it supports IP based cameras.

Input from a network source such as an IP camera or gstreamer output would be much appreciated!!
