  Admin, we want both options:

  1. Adding subtitle files to excisting video's (containers)
  2. Adding hardcoded subtitles in a encoding project. (SRT at least)

  3. Subtitle editing options, like colour, size, style etc.

  For clarification, are you requesting that we output ASS or SRT caption files, or use these types to burn the captions into the video?

  Indeed. If the VirtualDub club can do it, then the might of MS should find it a doddle. The coding is out there, it just needs tweaking for MEE.

  The new windows 7 makes encoding subtitles very hard, without breaking the media center.

  Please consider this.
